Did You Ever Have The Feeling... Go..Stay..Stay..Go

The clip below explains exactly how I feel about our moving predicament at the moment. This little song has stuck with me for years ever since I saw it in an old movie and every time I need to make a decision about moving this song always pops into my head.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY-zmJ1VCQI

As you all know Chris and I have to move and while we didn't get the house we were after we have seen a nice rental. However we're now thinking because we've got five months up our sleeve before we have to move we should stay and save as much as possible and then go when time has run out. On the other hand we have two rooms that aren't being used and it's wasted space I'm having to clean, plus the fact we have been over run by ants all summer that just aren't going away. I know I was teasing Chris about the ants (Ant and Spider Town....Population....Billions) but now it is ridiculously out of control to the point if packets aren't taped closed tightly then the ants will get in. They're sleeping with us, showering with us and even taking over the oven!! This is what makes us want to GO and fast.

So more thinking time is needed and I would like a couple of months here to get All About Nails up and running and a few regular customers. Hmm decisions, decisions, isn't life so much easier when someone does the thinking for you but then you'd miss all the fun of life.

Well until next time (which will be later today) I hope everyone has a great weekend and lots of fun. We're off bowling today, lets see if I can beat Chris again....lol...Take care...

Welcome To.....

Morning all, I'm a bit behind with blogging this week as I've had a migraine that has just wanted to linger for a few days and leave my  head pounding but thanks to some rest, (as in not much computer time, not as in no house work..pfft) some good old nurofen and wearing my glasses more, all is well once again.

Now if you follow me on twitter or facebook you would have seen an exciting announcement I made before the migraine kicked in. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about let me share with you my news....after much deliberation I have decided I'm going into business for myself from home. Doing what you're wondering?? Well, I am a Nail Technician and Beautician by trade (as well as a qualified Teachers Assistant and Intereior Decorator, I've done my fare share of study over the years) so to start with I will be doing acrylic nails and manicures. (I'm considering pedicures and facials as well.) I made the trip to Bunbury yesterday to pick up some  more supplies and there's just a few hand towels I need to pick up and I'm basically ready to go. Business cards should be here in about three weeks.....oh, I suppose you'd all like to know what the business will be called (silly of me to forget to tell  you all)....Welcome to All About Nails.....!! I can't wait to get started, who would like a manicure first, any volunteers?

Well there you have it my news is now shared and if anyone would like a manicure or full set of acrylics (and yes I do French tip, they're my favourite) then feel free to give me a call and we'll make a time.

I'm now off to get Bec and I some breakfast but keep your eyes open as I still have more news about moving and Fridays Photography is yet to come. Have a great day everyone, no matter where in the world you are.

Not This Time Round.....

Well I figure it's about time I let you all know how our house hunt is going. Well it hasn't gone as we hoped it would, we didn't get the loan for the house we were after so it's back to the drawing board. Which basically means we now have to find a reasonable rental and an affordable one, boy there are some shockers out there. This is the house we were hoping to be ours.

http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-wa-west+busselton-109433541

I really wish this was a rental because I'd be happy to rent it, it's a great house. However it obviously just was not meant to be this time around.

Still home for up to five more months.

So my lovely home here in Busselton is still home for a while longer yet. We have five more months up our sleeves before we have to move but I am viewing a property tomorrow and will let you all know how that goes. We're not rushing but I really don't want to be moving in the middle of winter here in the south west....noooo...not such a good idea, wind, rain, hail, more wind and more rain.....no I think we'll move now while the weather is still reasonably good. But I have to say that in the space of two weeks it has gone from being light at 5:30am when Chris leaves for work to dark when he leaves for work and I can't get over how fast the chilly mornings have kicked in either. I think we may even get an early winter here this year.

Well it's so long for now as there's so much still to do but I will be back a little later hopefully with some Home shots (more decorative than the house itself) for you. Take care.

Fridays Photography Post 10

Apologies for such a late photography post but it has been flat out here this week with rethinking a few things and still packing. But more about that in a later post. While I'm still loving doing this post I'm finding I'm getting a little frustrated with my camera as I just can't to the type of photography I want to. Believe it or not I can do more on my mobile phone...go figure. So now it's definitely time to invest in a new camera asap. Any way we had a great weekend and I'm hoping you all did too. So here are some beach shots for you.

The girls having fun despite the cold water, though once in it was very nice.

This is the smaller jetty not far down from the main jetty. Lots of guys fish off here regularly and the local teens are always jumping off.

This lovely gentleman excused himself for getting in my shot but he didn't realize I was actually snapping him.

One of the beautiful boats that were out on the water. There were a few out yesterday and they all looked so content bobbing away on the ocean.

Friends taking a stroll together and chatting about life as they know it.

These white parrots live in the trees down on the foreshore and every afternoon they have a carry on and come out of the trees and fly around madly and have a big old squawk while they do it. Love watching this in action.

Parrots having a rest after their quick afternoon flight.

This catamaran was huge and Chris and I looked at each other and said 'how much do you think one of these is?' To which we both agreed an arm and a leg but boy it would be nice to own one.

A lone shell teasing the ocean to pull it back out to sea.

Father and daughters collecting shells. I love Chris for the fact that he is the sort of dad who's prepared to do girly things with his daughters like collect shells and even on occasion dress a doll for them.

So there you have it another Fridays Photography Post and I'll be sure to be on time this week. Also another post soon about exactly what has been going on that made me so late getting this up. Take care, talk soon and I hope you all have a great start to the week.

All Manicured and Pedicured Out.....Until Next Time..

Yesterday I went and got that pedicure I was talking about and then when I was done I went up to my sister Charmaine's place and she did a manicure and took my pedicure up a level. We had a ball just talking, catching  up, laughing our heads off and just be silly like sisters are with each other. It was really enjoyable, there were no kids interrupting us every five minutes needing something and besides the noise of her birds in the yard we had peace. I tried to video blog her but she wouldn't be in it, as soon as the camera came on she stopped talking but I did get her a bit so I thought I'd share her with you all as she's such a cool sister. She will probably kill me but that's a price I'm prepared to pay.

Apologies for the side angle view I can't figure out how to turn the footage around.

Now I'm not a fan of showing off my feet as I inherited them from my dad which really is not good for a girl but these are before and after pics and I have to say Charmaine did an excellent job and I think she should come and work for me...

Me out of the usual gym pants and t-shirt and into something just a tad more dressy for spending a morning in town and time with my sister.

My feet in my fave thongs before I left the house. I found these shows on sale about 3yrs ago now for $7.50 from Novo Shoes. So girls if you love a bargain and your shoes check out Novo you won't be disappointed.

Half way through the pedicure and this moisturizing mask felt so nice and my legs and feet were so soft and the end it was amazing.

After Charmaine decided to up my manicure. She thought the gold nail polish needed a little more zing to it and I have to say I love it and it was funny listening to her curse the stickers and gems.

The picture doesn't really do Charmaine's handy work justice but I love what she did, definitely something nice to look at when driving..lol.

Charmaine insisted on doing my ring fingers as well as thumbs. I have to admit as a nail technician (me) by trade she did an awesome job and I am impressed with how meticulous she was.

A better view of the ring finger, I love this flower pattern and will be buying some nail art myself now. I've always thought about it but I should have it on hand for when friends, family or future clients want arty fingers like mine.

So if you have a fab sister like I do make sure you take some time to spend some time with her. And just for you Charm (I've always called her Charm) here's a song I love and while yes I know it's country it's still a great sister song so enjoy.

Ornaments Don't Live Here.....Display Pieces Only...

Bonjour! Well I'm hoping all you lovely people have had a wonderful Wednesday as I have this week and I must apologize as I just didn't have time to do the video blog today so will endeavor to have it up tomorrow.

I've always considered myself a person who doesn't really like nick nacks and ornaments and all that fussy stuff that supposedly decorates a house. I don't own ornaments of any kind, (I've never liked them and I'm putting it down to years of dusting mums while growing up...hehehe)  I've never really found any I like and I figure it's just more work I can do without. Now that doesn't mean to say I don't admire them in other peoples homes if they appeal to me because we all like different things.

However I do like using every day objects for display purposes such as a lovely group of milk jugs my mum gave me last year. She was going to send them of to St Vinnie's as she was decluttering and I spotted them, so she said take them if I liked them which is precisely what I did. No, I'm not using them for their intended purpose of  holding milk, I use them for flowers. They make wonderful vases and look oh so lovely when filled with fresh flowers. I also have an old flour canister Lyn gave me a few years ago now and while I haven't found a 'purpose' for it I love the colours on it and just can't part with it, as soon as I have a decent place to display it it will be on show.

I love the blues and the flower work on this canister and can't wait until I have a special spot to show it as it's too nice to be hiding in the back of my cupboard.

The milk jugs mum gave me, absolutely love the flower work on these and when they're filled with flowers they just look so homey.

My small display collection which will be growing soon as I had a good find while out today but that will be in a post soon to come where I will also show you my shells that were my grandfathers and must be 40yrs old now. I remember when I was little, always picking them up, putting them to my ear and listening to the ocean. Ah how I love that sound and still do.

I've been trying to figure out for a while now what my decorating style is and while I haven't really had one as I've just usually made do with what I've had and dressed it up I'm finding I'm really leaning towards a cross of French decor (naturally as I love the language.) and beachy, coastal living. Two very different schemes but two themes that are very close to my heart so it's going to be tricky to balance it so it doesn't become uncoordinated but I'm going to give it a shot.

So how about you, what's your decorating style and what really makes you go, 'wow got to have it!!'

Bonsoir amis ~ Goodnight friends

Oh how I love the french language.......

37 And Moving On Up And Out.......

Today I turn 37!! I don't celebrate my birthday as I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses but that doesn't mean you don't stop and reflect about the fact you're getting older. Today officially puts me in the 'late 30's' category and it's not a label I'm liking much. Now don't think I'm depressed or going to jump off any bridges (the jetty maybe just for fun...but no bridges hehe) because that's not the case at all, it's just that it means I'm ever so closer to 40!!! Really I know 37 isn't old at all, in fact I still mess around with my kids and with Chris as if I were the teenager at times and maybe that has been one benefit to having kids so young is that I was young with them.

Today I'm 37yrs old....
It's also going to be an interesting year. As most of you would have read in an earlier post (It's Official....We're Moving Out....) we're moving soon. We've been looking at houses and debating whether to buy or rent but if all goes well buying will win out and we are hoping to have some news either today or at least by mid week about our loan. However if it falls through then it'll be renting for a while, whichever way we go we've only got five months left to make a decision and move on out, so it's all systems go here. I've already started packing the house so we are just ready to go when we do find something and that way I'm not running around like a lunatic with three days to spare before moving....a little like when I moved to Busselton, I had three weeks to pack a four bedroom house, teenagers, animals, organise a truck, have everything turned on in the house in Busselton, friends helping pack and one even made the three hour trip with her car full of stuff to help me (thanks Bec). And man did those three weeks fly by, it sounds like plenty of time but really it's not. So this time I'm getting a major head start so it will all be done beforehand and all we have to do is load a truck and go.

So while today is just another day (except I'm not usually waiting to hear about loans) it does make me think that time goes by so fast and we never know what's around the corner. I would never have thought just two years ago when I moved to Busselton that within twelve months of moving here I'd be married to my high school sweetheart (you can read all about it as Full Circle was my very first Post) and then a further twelve months later we'd be looking to buy our first house together. It has definitely been and interesting and exciting 2yrs since leaving the city and I'm sure it'll continue to be an interesting life being married to Chris, raising kids and moving house along the way. So although I'm not thrilled about turning 37 it's comforting to know Chris will be joining me in turning 37 himself in just three short months...hehe....love you hun...

Well for now I'm out of here as I have a certain three year old who's claiming to be starving to death and needs breakfast so have a good day and I'll check back in later.....No time to worry about getting older when kids are nagging you to death.....take care..

Fridays Photography Post 9

Well it's Friday and time for another photography post. These a just a few pics I took while out and about over the last week and thought I'd share them. Hope you all enjoy them.

A Kookaburra I spotted at Meelup. I haven't seen many Kookaburra's
in years, yet where I lived when I first moved out of home the trees
near my flat were filled with them.

My favourite pair of thongs and most comfortable pair I've ever owned
in my life. I bought them about three years ago now and they're still
going strong. Yes they are Giselle Bundchen thongs and worth every
penny. I actually got these on sale after Lyn told me about them.

Feeling the sand between my toes at the beach Wednesday. The sand was
just nice and warm and the water was beautiful.

This guy just sat himself down in front of me and didn't budge. Even with
all the other birds flying around him it was like he was in his own world.

Seagulls enjoying the warm sun as much as I was and I just couldn't get
over the way the sun was sparkling so brightly on the water. Beautiful.

I am hoping to get a lovely picture of sunset for next week before Autumn takes over too much and the colours change, keep watch.

The Disaster Zone....Fact or Fiction....?

Do you have a room in your house that's always a disaster zone?? I do and mine just happens to be the laundry of all places. You would probably think the laundry would be the easiest room in the house to keep clean but with loads of traffic going in and out of there, sand blowing in on windy days, cats traipsing in and out to use the kitty litter and no door to close it off, it constantly looks like a bomb went off in there. So today's mission is to get this room under control, tidy and looking just a little spiffy.

The disaster zone. Have you got one too??

Well it is now three in the afternoon and the disaster zone is finally under control, nice and tidy and just a little spiffy.

The disaster zone under control and tidy.

If you're like me and your dryer isn't wall mounted and find the top of it gets covered in dust and run down from laundry bottles, place a nice foot towel over the top of the dryer. It keeps it clean and dust free then every once in a while just throw the foot towel in with your usual towels to wash and voila.....nice fresh cover for the dryer again. I thought of this one day when I was over the dryer needing wiping down again as it means I have to take everything off give it a good scrub then put everything back.

Taken in the play room just to show I really don't
have a door to close the laundry off.

So how about it, do you all have a disaster zone in your house? If so which room is it and how do you keep it under control?? And do you think it's fact or fiction that every house has at least one disaster zone?

Avoir une bonne journee.....~Francais

Have a great day.....

Wednesday...My Home Alone Day...

Well today is Wednesday and this is the one day of the week I have the house completely to myself as Chris is at work (obviously), Bec is at Bumble Bee and Luke is at Intework. Now what to do today. Well lately I've been making Wednesday the one day of the week I treat myself to a treat and it just happens to be that oh so beautiful ice cream I'm always rambling on about....yep you guessed it....Simmo's. Today was coffee crunch and for those who live close enough to try it and haven't I suggest you do and for those who live too far away to try it well take my word for it, it's the best ice cream around. I thought today I would actually sit on the beach while having ice cream and take in the sun and sound of the water as it was a beautiful day.

Simmo's Coffee Crunch, so delicious.

I also thought I'd try something a little different for Wednesdays as I have the time, peace and quiet to do it while it's just me home. I thought I'd do a bit of a video blog about what I'm up to. I'm sure there will be plenty to tell you especially while we're on the house hunt and packing to move. So here's today's video blog....I hope you all enjoy it even though it's short. And before I forget, apologies if I'm a bit hard to hear on the video as it was very windy and also I didn't realize I was holding the phone so close, it's not easy to record yourself when the sun is so bright it's hitting the screen and you can't tell if you've hit record or if you're in the frame properly hehehe....was definitely an experience. Hope you enjoy it.

My first attempt with a video blog.

So there you have it, now it's over to you guys to tell me what you think. So what do you think??

Fridays Photography Post 8.....

A belated Fridays Photography as we were away for the weekend. Here is a group of pretty random homey shots I took as I love the way some objects just scream cosy home.

My trusty peg container. I love it simply for it's
look and the fact it holds all my pegs.

My favourite bench seat I bought years ago, still going strong.

A fresh load of washing ready to be folded.

My gorgeous soft throw blanket,
I love curling up with this when I'm tired.

My beloved coffee machine Chris bought me that I use all the time.
Say hello to Barista Michelle.

What are some of your favourite homey things??

Super Fresh And Completely Forgotten About...

This morning I was rushing around the house trying to get jobs out of the way and I was thinking about the fact I needed to catch up on the laundry. Then I stopped dead in my tracks and thought 'where are all our towels and bathers from the beach Monday? I know I washed them...' and then it hit me, I did wash them, Monday afternoon and pegged them out Monday evening.....and guess where they still were.....yep, you guessed it, they were still out on the line. So to make sure I wasn't going crazy I went to check and sure enough blowing in the beautiful morning breeze with the sun shining on them there were our towels, bathers and a few extra bits.

Fresh forgotten washing.

I have been so side tracked the last couple of days I can't believe I completely forgot I pegged the washing out let alone forgetting I even washed it.

Blowing in the morning breeze and the bright sunshine.

It really was a beautiful morning today and it has stayed that way all day, in fact it has been this way all week. This is why I love Autumn, beautiful weather you can still go to the beach to swim and glorious days like today to peg out the washing and get that super fresh air smell in your clothes and linen. Gotta love sunshine and fresh air.

A Love Of Coffee.....And A Very Beachy Weekend....

So I'm a bit behind the eight ball this week, so much has happened it's put me behind writing about the great weekend we had. It really is amazing what can happen in a days time, you really never do know what's around the corner but more about that in a future post.

This weekend was great, for us here in little ole Western Australia Monday was a public holiday, so we had an extra day to relax and have some fun.

Saturday was a pretty lazy day really, for once Chris wasn't working (well not at work any way hehe) so we actually got to spend the whole day together. Even though it was the weekend Bec still had us up by 7am!! Really, when will this child learn the value of sleeping in?? So up we get at an ungodly hour, half asleep and craving a coffee to wake us up. Now I have to admit I make the coffee every day no matter what the hour, it could be 5am when Chris is getting ready for work, 6:30am when I finally decide I can't go back to sleep or 4pm when I need an afternoon fix. If you're wondering why Chris doesn't make the coffee it's like this. Chris bought me the coffee machine just before Christmas last year (I think to make up for the fact he was dragging me to Perth and making me suffer through another Christmas, which I don't celebrate). I have been wanting another coffee machine for a few years as I wore the last one out making coffee for friends (which I love to do) who drop by unexpectedly or for after dinner coffee when friends have come round for dinner. So any way Chris bought me the machine and new cappuccino cups to go with it and I kind of implied I and I alone will be making the coffee from now on as I know how to use the machine. So I am the official barista in our house and I love it.

So after making coffee we lounged around for a while watching t.v and chatting about looking for houses and what we were going to do for the day. Chris looked at me and said 'you've got work for me haven't you?'...(hehhe he knows me too well) to which I responded, 'not just for you hun, I'll help but we really need to tidy up outside.' He just gave me that look that says, 'hmmm it's going to cost you.' And that's what we did, got up, got dressed and worked outside just tidying up the patio area, a bit of sweeping here, a bit of furniture removal there, some hosing off over there too, you get the idea. It wasn't so bad no matter what he says, in fact we were finished by lunch time so he still got to watch his rugby. (men and their sport, seriously)

We finished off the day by taking Luke and Bec down to the gym for an afternoon swim which was nice and relaxing and we even decided to get Chinese for dinner as a belated anniversary dinner and it gave me the night off cooking.

A Perfect Cup of Coffee

Sunday felt like a long day as there was no meeting at the Kingdom Hall so we were actually home all day which rarely happens on a Sunday. Sunday morning was pretty muchthe same routine as Saturday morning thanks to a certain 3yr old, hmm who could that be bec??? So up we get again at the crack of dawn only this time there was no lounging around as we had decided that since I made Chris slave so hard in the backyard Saturday and he missed going to the gym, we would go Sunday morning and take Bec with us. Coffee was made and had first of course, enter barista Michelle.

We were surprised and happy to see the gym was all but empty at 8:15am on a Sunday morning, so Chris headed into the gym to do his weights session (otherwise known as the posers workout hehehe) and I headed into the lovely heated pool with Bec to do some swimming. The gym was nice and quiet when we got there but once Bec entered that pool the whole street knew we were there, she is such a foghorn it's not funny. To say Bec is loud is an understatement, my dad calls her 'the squawker' because she's so loud but like I said to Chris, we'll never lose her when we're out because you can hear her a mile away...and that's just one of the reasons we love her.

After a couple of hours in the pool (Chris joined us after posing hehe) we headed home where the washing and other mundane chores were waiting for us. With work out of the way (is it ever really out of the way? I think not...) we had some lunch put Bec down for a nap (which she didn't have) and watched a movie together, during which I fell asleep. I have a tendency to fall asleep during movies no matter what time of day we watch it. I'm putting it down to the fact it's the only time I sit and do absolutely nothing, so therefore I get so comfy on the couch my eyes have no choice but to slowly close, my head falls onto Chris' shoulder and that's where I stay until the movie is over. (which is precisely what happened Sunday afternoon.) Once the movie was finished and Bec was up and I was attempting to re-awaken it was about 2:30pm and we decided that being it was such a beautiful day we would go down to the beach for a while.
Bec having a ball of a time. She's going
to be such a beach chick when she's older.

Me in the water and yes that is a Dora the Explorer
bucket in my hand, I was busy collecting shells when
Chris snapped me.

It was so beautiful in the water that neither Bec or I wanted to come home but by 5pm Chris was ready to go so we reluctantly packed up and came home. Oh how I love living two minutes away from the beach.
Sunday night was just spent relaxing really, watching a bit of t.v, catching up on my blog reading, Chris watching the sports channel and Bec so worn out she went to bed and crashed.

You would think that being as Monday was a holiday we would get to sleep in, right? Wrong.....once again Bec has us up at the crack of dawn so it's the usual routine. Drag ourselves out of bed, make some oh so lovely fresh coffee, have breakfast and make a potato salad. A potato salad you say? Yes a potato salad. You see Friday night Chris' brother Mark called and asked if we wanted to meet at Meelup Beach (which if you know me you know it's my all time favourite beach) to which of course we said absolutely. The weather has been perfect beach and bbq weather all weekend so why not make the most of it. So any way the guys made the arrangements (if you can believe it) and I was asked could I please make a potato salad and Mark will bring garden salad and of course we all bring our own meat. Then when Chris gets off the phone I ask him, 'so I'm making a potato salad, yeah?' to which Chris replies 'well Mark said he has plenty of sausages and to just bring whatever meat we want, if you want to otherwise don't worry because he's bringing salad.' Now who wouldn't take that to mean, forget the potato salad just take some meat, rolls and whatever else we feel like.

Now, it's Monday morning 8am and I'm trying to catch up on a bit of blog reading to see what all my lovely blogging friends have been up to over the weekend before we head out and...the phone rings....and it's Mark. Just calling to see if we're still right for today he tells me,which of course we were. And then it happens, Mark, 'Chris said you were bringing a potato salad.....' (I could have killed Chris there and then , lucky for him he was in the loo) to which I responded ' ah, um yeah sure if you want me to.' Mark, 'Didn't Chris tell you?' me, 'ah yeah but then he kind of said not to bother, he was a bit vague so I didn't worry about it.' Mark, 'Chris vague, never hehehehe. Nah it's ok you won't have time now just bring yourselves.' (seriously, I am WOMAN. Of course I can whip up a potato salad in less than two hours. Has Mark not listened to Helen Reddy?? Seriously....) Any how I got off the phone to Mark, banged on the toilet door to tell Chris I was going to kill him, then headed to the kitchen to make potato salad. Chris came out eventually and says, 'I told you last night.' Me 'you told me, 'meh either way' which I took to mean forget it don't worry about it.' Then he just gave me that look that says 'please don't kill me, I love you, I'll make it up to you.' hmmm, I'm a sucker for that look.

Any way after making potato salad at 8:30am, grrrr... getting Bec and Luke organised, and making sure we've got everything we finally head off to Meelup just after 10am. We arrived to the car park completely full and it was only 10:30am, it seemed all of Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River and even Bunbury had the same idea. We found Mark and his family tucked away near a bbq that hadn't been over run so that was good and we just spent the rest of the morning swimming until everyone decided they wanted to eat. Me, I could just swim all day long, forget eating, who needs food when you're surrounded by endless blue ocean but I dragged myself out of the water and headed up to where our stuff was and had lunch with everyone else.

Once lunch was done with everyone decided it was time to go back in the water which felt even nicer a second time round. I was talking to my sister in-law Rosa while swimming when the stingers attacked (stingers come with the territory down south so you learn to adapt to them)....first Rosa got stung and we didn't think too much of it then I got stung. Rosa headed into shore but me, I thought I'd take my chances and hang around in the water a while longer. I swam over to Chris and had a cuddle (we were watching Bec on the shore and Luke was sitting in the tent thingy) and then we ended up messing around like we were teenagers again at our local pool. (I love the fact we have our history and memories of what we were like together as kids, we're always saying 'remember when we were in school and we did such and such') Within a few minutes of messing around though the stingers came in full force and I was getting stung left right and center, literally. I was just walking up to check Bec when I heard her say ouch and heard her start to cry, she'd been stung too and it was a big one right on the back of her thigh. So being that we were now under attack everyone decided to call it a day and head home which was fine as it was becoming impossible to swim and we'd been at Meelup for four hours already.

On the way home we decided to stop at Simmo's Ice Creamery not far from where we were and have an ice cream. I still stand by what I said in an earlier post that Simmo's has the best ice cream in the world. (check out Ant And Spider Town....Population Billions...) So 25 minutes after the stop for ice cream we arrived home, climbed out of the car, fell in the front door, got Bec showered and cleaned up, organised some dinner and spent the rest of the afternoon/evening relaxing and enjoying what was left of the weekend before the real world was back.

A very crowded Meelup.

Meelup from where we were having lunch.

Overall it was a fantastic weekend and time well spent with family, now we're almost at another weekend and the usual routine has been going all week. Up at 4:30am, make coffee, see Chris off, back to bed only to realize there's no way I'm falling back asleep, get up make myself a fresh coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet before Bec gets up and the day starts.

How was your weekend? I hope everyone had as much fun as we did and enjoyed as much coffee as I did....

Fridays Photography Post 7

With all the talk of Autumn and seasons changing I thought I would share few of my favourite nature pictures. Some are from my own garden and some are from just being out and about. Enjoy.

Bird of Paradise in my garden. I actually never really liked
these before but after having them for a couple of years
now the have definitely grown on me. They're fascinating
to watch flower.

A small bunch of Grapes growing on my vine. Lets just hope the birds
don't go stealing them all. I'm enjoying watching the grapes getting bigger.

Another bunch of grapes getting bigger. They sure are tricky to find on
the vine as they blend in with the leaves.

My Grapevine growing wild and free. Some of the vines have started
winding themselves around the top of the bench seat. I love sitting there
in the after noon, it's nice and relaxing.

Lauren actually took this picture while we were shopping at Bunnings.
She knows roses are my favourite flower.

Lauren's favourite flower, Daisies.

Pelicans sitting on the rocks in the Blackwood River in Augusta. For those
of you who remember my first Fridays Photography Post when I told you
about visiting Augusta and tripping on the jetty and capturing my Shadow
Pic, these are the Pelicans I was trying to get a picture of.
