The Travelling Diary

I am starting a travelling diary which will be making it's way to America in December in time for the new year. The idea is that I get the chance to see how my family overseas and who I've never met in person live their lives and what goes on in a week or two. When one person has had the diary for a week or so then they pass it on to another family member. Now being that I have a very large family in America the diary should be able to make the rounds in a year quite easily. I will be keeping track of the diary here on my blog so if you end up with it please come and leave a comment so I know it's still travelling. I'm also asking everyone to send a postcard of where they live once they receive the diary as I will be keeping a track of this on a map of the world so I can show my kids where our relatives live and postcards are great visuals for kids as well as the map.

Special thanks goes to Nikki for being my first volunteer and getting the diary off the ground, I appreciate it very much and look forward to seeing what you did in the first weeks of 2012!!

I hope everyone enjoys having the diary and sharing their lives just a little with me and my family.

15th December 2011

Well finally the Travelling Diary has left Busselton, Western Australia and is on it's way to Simi Valley California to my lovely cousin Nikki. I feel very excited that it's on its way finally and relieved that I no longer have to keep reminding myself to get it in the post.

So remember if the Travelling Diary ends up on your door step don't forget to let me know so I can track its progress and report on how it's going. Have fun everyone and I look forward to seeing all your comments left here.

The Busselton Jetty, my postcard for you all of where I live.

30th December 2011

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I had confirmation from Nikki in Simi Valley on the 24th December 2011 that she has received the Travelling Diary...yey!! So now I just have to sit back and wait 12 whole months to find out what she did at the start of 2012....it's going to kill me...take care and I'll check back in soon.

10th February 2012

Well I have confirmation from Nikki that she has finally managed to pass the Travelling Diary along to our cousin Hali who also lives in Simi Valley. It has been a bit trickier than we expected but from what Nikki tells me she has kept the diary going for the extra time she had it. I can't wait to see what she was up to for the first 5 weeks of the year.

Now Hali is at University and studying so it should be really interesting to see through Hali's eyes what University life is like. I know Hali is in the band and loves music, the love of music seems to be a Bergeron trait as we all have a strong love for it whether we play an instrument or enjoy singing.

Have fun with the diary Hali and we look forward to seeing how life is going for you.......p.s don't forget the postcard.

31st March 2012

Good morning everyone. I spoke to Hali a couple of days ago and she has informed me she will be passing the diary on and has put lots of pictures in it. Now Hali has had the diary for quite some time so it should be very interesting to see what she as a college student gets up to. Hali has been very busy with college and assignments, so it has taken her a little longer to be able to pass the diary on.

Our next contributor to the diary is Butch from Texas. Butch was married to my cousin Debbie many years ago and sadly Debbie passed away at a very young age, but once you marry into the Bergeron clan you are considered family for life. (Unless of course you do something really horrible to the Bergeron you married, then you're on your own hehehe.....seriously we are a loving bunch who love our family heaps.)

I have gotten to know Butch  over facebook and he is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. We have really good chats about life, pop (frank), his little boy Carson and all sorts of other things. I'm really looking forward to Butch's input in the diary as I think it may be full of history and memories and that's what I've been looking for.

So Butch enjoy your time with the diary and I look forward to reading your entries.

Hi there Home, Love & Life readers....just an update about the travelling diary.....it seems the diary has come to a stand still at Hali's place and hasn't made it to Butch yet but my lovely cousin Nikki is looking into it for me and will get it moving again...thanks Nikki you're a legend........So as soon as I know what's happening I'll be back to fill you all in.....take care xo
